Now, the PSA is gearing up to use the PhilSys registry to make it easier to verify the identity of potential social protection program beneficiaries in the Department of Social Welfare and Development’s (DSWD) Listahanan.

The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) marks a new milestone in implementing the Philippine Identification System (PhilSys), successfully issued 50,176,726 million PhilIDs and ePhilIDs which can already be used for transactions needing proof of identity.

In pursuit of the shared goal of a financially inclusive Philippines, the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) and Land Bank of the Philippines (LANDBANK) onboarded 8.4 million unbanked Filipinos in 2022—5.8 million of whom were able to open transaction accounts.

The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA), and the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) released issuances and advisories for the acceptance of the ePhillD as a valid proof of identity.

The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) has successfully printed a combined total of 50,262,059 PhilIDs and ePhilIDs.
