The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) continues its rollout for the Step 3 Registration or the issuance of PhilSys Number (PSN) and delivery of Philippine Identification (PhilID) cards. As of 15 May 2021, a total of 103,935 PhilID cards were already delivered by the Philippine Postal Corporation (PHLPost) to successful registrants.

PSA Undersecretary Dennis S. Mapa, Ph.D., National Statistician and Civil Registrar General, shares this milestone for the third and final step of the PhilSys registration that started on 01 May 2021 following the pilot launch of the online Step 1 Registration on 30 April 2021.

“We are thankful for our partner, PHLPost, for the swift distribution of the PhilID cards to our registrants. We are looking into ramping-up our card production and delivery services in the coming weeks so that more Filipinos will be able to enjoy the benefits of registering to the PhilSys. The PSA is working to partner with various agencies and institutions so the public could have easier access to government and private transactions,” said Undersecretary Mapa.

The registrants are advised to safekeep the letter enclosed with the PhilID upon receipt as it contains confidential information such as their PSN, a randomly-generated identification number that is assigned permanently upon successful registration to PhilSys. To protect the permanent PSN when transacting, registrants are highly encouraged to use the PhilSys Card Number (PCN), the public version of the PSN which is printed in front of the PhilID.

The PSA has called on other government agencies and private establishments to recognize and acknowledge the PhilID as valid proof of identity in various transactions in accordance with Section 12 of Republic Act 11055 or the PhilSys Act.
