Update on PhilSys Step 2 Registration

The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) informs the public that Step 2 Registration for the Philippine Identification System (PhilSys) will start early January 2021 on a gradual, small-scale basis to ensure safety of the PhilSys registrants and registration staff. The initial phase of Step 2 Registration will run from January to April 2021 to register 10.5 million Filipinos who completed Step 1 Registration in 2020.

Step 1 Registration involves the collection of demographic data and scheduling of appointments for Step 2, which is the validation of supporting documents and capturing of fingerprints, irises and facial image at registration centers.

To deliver a safe, secure, and seamless PhilSys registration for Filipinos, ongoing testing is being done to optimize the process and technology. Further, we are strengthening our registration protocols to ensure our registrants and registration staff’s safety in light of the reported new COVID-19 variant.

Step 2 Registration will open for a small number of registrants in the first week of January 2021 in San Pablo City, Laguna. This will be followed by the opening of a limited number of PhilSys registration centers in the provinces of Bataan, Zambales, Batangas, Cavite, and Rizal in the succeeding weeks. The PSA aims to start Step 2 Registration in more provinces by February 2021.

In coordination with local government units, the PSA will inform the Step 1 registrants of their respective schedules for Step 2. For any inquiries, the Step 1 registrants may reach PSA through email (info@philsys.gov.ph), its official Facebook page (www.facebook.com/PSAPhilSysOfficial), or hotline 1388.
